Power Architecture automotive MCUs supported until 2034
STMicroelectronics is extending long-term support for its 32bit Power
STMicroelectronics is extending long-term support for its 32bit Power Architecture SPC56 automotive microcontrollers to "at least 2034", it said.
"To ensure lifetime support for our customers’ new applications, and those already in the market, we are unveiling the extension to 20 years, of our unique product longevity commitment, which we launched in 2014, assuring the availability of SPC56 MCUs until at least 2034," said ST general manager Luca Rodeschini.
ST's semiconductor innovations are powering today's automotive electrification and smart-driving trends that increase economy, safety, and reliability. The Company continues to develop new and more advanced products that define the state of the art, while maintaining its lifetime commitment to meet the unique needs of customers.
The part family is in production and used in power-train, chassis, and body applications.
Single and multi-core parts are available with non-volatile memory ranging from 256kbyte to 4Mbyte. Interface options include LINFlex, FlexCAN, FlexRay, DSPI serial, I2C and Ethernet. 10 and 12bit ADCs also feature, as do watchdog and timers (eTPU, eMIOS).
For safety-critical applications, there are devices intended to support ASIL-D functional safety – features include memory error correction code (ECC), a ‘fault collection and control unit (FCCU) and chip fail-safe mode.
